The original owners of the Legacy Village property were Charlie Bryant and Emma Barrows, married on December 24, 1891. Together, they acquired over 100 acres of land in Columbus MS in the early 1900’s. They raised five healthy and successful children, each exhibiting the same values of their parents - self-determination, perseverance, courage, faithfulness, and love of family. In their honor, the Bryant descendants established the Bryant Miller Levy Enterprises LLC, a Mississippi corporation.
The Bryant Legacy Village will be designed as a destination complex for business retreats or conferences, family entertainment, recreation, and education. Located in the Northeast corner of Mississippi on thirty plus acres, the Bryant Legacy Village will be in an area known as the Golden Triangle. Its design incorporates the state of the art technological, environmental and safety standards throughout all aspects. These quality standards are applied to all features of the Bryant Legacy Village, including the hotel and conference center, the water park and natatorium, high tech simulators for unique sports activities, and a museum facilitating ancestral histories. Maintaining the area’s natural beauty throughout the complex honors the unique Mississippi ecology and fosters outdoor enjoyment. The development is intentionally planned to attract a wide range of ages and interests.
The water park will provide an everchanging array of activities enjoyable for all ages. The expansive, indoor/ outdoor park will encompass splash tubes, sprinklers, floating rivers, and a competitive swimming pool. Its electronic cover for most of the park features will allow enjoyment throughout all seasons of the year.
Business and community leaders will find a hotel and a well-equipped conference area. These features will include those amenities which enable peaceful rejuvenation and facilitate purposeful gatherings.
Sports enthusiasts and those seeking fun-filled activities will find a wide array of cutting-edge sports simulators, including safe cubicles for ax throwing enjoyment and competition in our high-tech sports entertainment center.
Future plans include the development of a legacy museum. The venue will feature computer tools to research family and community history and stories. Similar in concept to the Smithsonian’s African American History and Cultural Museum in Washington DC, any visitor can probe into their ancestry with the help of renown historians and research assistants.
The Master Plan for Bryant Legacy Village involves expansion of the complex through acquisition of additional property.
The first few phases will utilize currently owned land. These phases will include the Legacy Village Hotel Suites and Conference Center, the Bryant Legacy Lagoon water park, and the sportsplex/ entertainment hub. This initial phase is preceded by the pre-opening activities developed by the marketing team of several soft openings to evaluate and enhance features and overall operations. Preopening invitations are offered to local civic and governmental officials, key community leaders, participants in the “roadshow” and “community events”.
The next few phases of development include residential, retail/commercial businesses and a discovery museum. Additional consideration of future development will be based on successful land acquisition, continuous market assessment, innovation, and community needs.
